In the 1970s, kids were scared of nuclear war, quicksand, and killer bees. This disaster-flick-with-an-all-star-cast (directed by the king of that sort of thing, Irwin Allen) is partially responsible for the bee fear. (The TV movie The Savage Bees is also partially responsible.)
