Directed by Thomas Lee
2000 • PG-13 • English • 90 min.
This is one of those movies where there may well have been more drama behind the scenes than onscreen. Despite Walter Hill being the film’s principal director, Jack Sholder directed some reshoots, and Francis Ford Coppola took a shot at reediting the work of Hill and Sholder. Plus the studio (MGM/UA) went through leadership changes while the movie was in post-production. And it’s not clear if any of the directors or studio executives involved ever agreed on a clear vision for the movie. The film’s credited director is “Thomas Lee,” an Alan Smithee-type pseudonym.
Cast: James Spader, Angela Bassett, Robin Tunney, Robert Forster
