It often seems like Mystery Science Theater 3000 (AKA MST3K) invented what would become internet culture. Before people were poking fun at movies and TV shows and general pop culture on Twitter, Joel and Mike and their robot friends were doing that out in space, on the Satellite of Love. To say the show outperformed its humble beginnings (it got its start as a public access show) is a huge understatement.
