Remember The Cannonball Run, the movie about a wild and wooly cross-country car race? Death Race 2000 is kind of like that, but it’s a lot more violent as racers get points for running over pedestrians. Notable for being one of producer Roger Corman’s more infamous exploitation pictures and for featuring Sylvester Stallone a year before his breakout performance in Rocky. Oh, and David Carradine’s “Frankenstein” character has a bit of a Darth Vader vibe, two years before Star Wars took over the world.
