The great Stanley Kubrick developed this movie about a robot boy who wants to be human (Kubrick sometimes referred to it as “Pinocchio”) for years but never filmed it. After Kubrick’s death, the great Steven Spielberg took over the project. The finished film reveals an interesting mixture of the two filmmakers’ sensibilities.
